What boy or unisex names do you think will become girl names only? And what's left for the boys?

Okay, I know that names like Ashley, Leslie and Lindsay all used to be strictly boy names back in the day. What names do you think will eventually become almost permanent girls names as the ones I have listed here. What unisex names do you think are appropriate to do so, or will do so?

Even if you're not a fan of unisex names, which names do you think will complete the takeover?

And what names do you think will be left for the boys??

Thanks!

Names that will become permanently girls:

Avery

Alexis

Taylor

Madison

Back to the boys:

Riley

Cameron

Drew

I read an interesting article, not one of the links below, that addressed how people think of males unisex names as more "girly" and weaker than the James/John/Matthews of the world. Similarly, girls given unisex names are seen as stronger than their Sarah/Katie/Mary counterparts. This helps explain why names that are unisex begin to trend more to the female side - people want their boys to be manly... and their girls to be strong but feminine.

Angel is now much more popular for males than females - so that's encouraging :).

That's a good question. Beverly actually used to be a male name. So did Stacey - it's the nickname for Eustace (which I LOVE). Carrie/Kerry, too - it was just spelled differently, like Cary Grant. And Angel.

I know several guys named Ashley, and I know a guy whose middle name is Leslie.

Alex is used for both boys and girls nowadays, too. Granted, it's a shortened version of either Alexander or Alexandra, but even so. My boyfriend's name is Alex(ander), and it can be a bit disconcerting to hear his name be shouted out and see a girl reply.

In my opinion, it doesn't really matter if names switch gender. If I loved a unisex name, I'd use it, I wouldn't care if it was the proper trend or not. If I want to name my son Eustace and call him Stacey for short (and mark my words, I WOULD call him Stacey), then I will. What boy or unisex names do you think will become girl names only? Taylor and Tyler use to be unisex names, but mostly boys

Tyler is still mostly boys, Taylor is a common girl name

Ryan will always be a boys naem

Riley is way to common as a girls name

Avery is much more a girl name today

Hayden, is getting common as a girl name, I think it will become like Riley or Taylor

Quinn, Peyton, Payton are like Jordan, common for both

Logan is common more of a girl name, but still a top 20 boys name.

I would not name a girl a top 100 boys name

Jamie is for both

Devin is becoming more of a girl name, but still more common in both. I know both boys and girls with this name

Casey/Kacie; Reese/Reece; Cameron/Kamryn; Morgan/Morrigan have spelling of the name that is more common or only one sex,

I think names like these will stay close to the spelling, except Morrigan

I like Jesse will always be a good name for boys, it been for more than 100 years

Well already, Alex, Jordan, and Taylor are becoming less and less popular as boys' names. But whenever boys names become more popular for girls, we always create new ones for boys. For example, where was the name Aiden ten years ago??
